FAQ

How do I get a UDC number?

UDC (Universal Decimal Classification) is an international decimal classification system that provides a consistent and gradual indexing of scientific and subject fields to the corresponding subfields. It is a tool that numerically and in universally recognizable way shows a subject or a scientific field that corresponds to author's work. To get the UDC number, you should contact the librarian at your institution (university / institute). If your institution does not have a library, please contact the librarian at the University Library "Svetozar Markovic".

How do I choose a "scientific field" and "scientific subfield"?

To determine the scientific field and a subfield, you can take a look at the Rules of professional, academic and scientific qualifications (Službeni glasnik RS, 30/2007, 112/2008, 72/2009, 81/2010, 39/2011 and 54/2011) which was delivered by the National Council for Higher Education. It contains an index table for scientific and technical fields within the corresponding educational and scientific fields.

Yes. The adopted guidelines for doctoral dissertations ("Guidelines for formatting the doctoral dissertation" and "Thesis form") provide recommendations for the cover page, type and size of the font, margins, line spacing, etc.

Signed personal statements are an integral part of the dissertation and should be placed at the end of bound document. Statement should be scanned and included in the electronic version of the dissertation before the binding.

How to choose a license?

The main purpose of each license is to protect your copyrights, and also enable the dissemination of your work. By choosing the license, each author defines in its sole discretion under what the circumstances his work can be used.
